Juliane Adrian received her Diploma in Geophysics (2011) from the Institute of Geophysics and Meteorology (IGM) at the University of Cologne, Germany. In her diploma thesis she employed the transient electromagnetic (TEM) method on mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan. She is currently a PhD student at the IGM Cologne. Her research currently focuses on inversion of DC and IP data.
Peter Allen received the Ph.D. degree in engineering geology from Southern Methodist University (1977). His principal area of expertise is the application of geomorphology and engineering geology to the solution of river engineering and other environmental problems. This includes use of submerged jet testing of channel erodibility, modeling of time series degradation of stream channels, and use of sub-bottom acoustical profiling for evaluation of sedimentation in lakes and reservoirs. He has been part of multidisciplinary teams responsible for ordinances dealing with stream channel erosion (channel setback ordinance), floodplain fill and hill slope (escarpment) ordinances in many Texas cities. He is active working with the ARS (USDA) and international scientists on groundwater, landscape and channel erosion and sediment transport modules in the SWAT (EPA Basins) model. He is a registered geologist (PG) in the State of Texas.
Jeffrey Arnold received the Ph.D. degree in agricultural engineering from Purdue University (1992). He is an agricultural engineer with the USDA-Agricultural Research Service at the Grasslands Soil and Water Research Laboratory, Temple Texas. His areas of research include the development of river basin scale hydrologic and water quality models, surface and groundwater interactions, base flow recession analysis and simulation of manure management and nutrient transport. Currently he is developing algorithms for bacteria fate and transport, riparian simulation within a basin scale model, and nutrient and manure management.
