Andreas Becht graduated in geology (2001) and received the Dr. rer. nat. degree in geophysics (2004) from the University of Tübingen, Germany. His doctorate research focused on the application of geophysical techniques for hydrogeological site characterization at different scales and inversion techniques for cross-hole tomography. Presently, he works as a geophysicist for Statoil, Norway, dealing with electromagnetic methods.
Urs Böniger received a Diploma in geophysics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Switzerland, in 2004. From 2005 to 2006 he conducted graduate studies at the University of British Columbia, Canada, working on seismic multiple removal. Since June 2006 he has been working towards a Ph.D. degree at the University of Potsdam, Germany, in the group of Applied Geophysics. His current research is focused on the enhancement of shallow subsurface images using georadar attribute analysis.
William P. Clement received a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Wyoming. An Associate Research Professor with the Center for Geophysics Investigation of the Shallow Subsurface (CGISS) at Boise State University, he uses GPR and downhole inversion methods to determine the physical properties of the near subsurface. He is especially interested in determining the soil moisture and porosity in the vadose zone and aquifers to address ground water and environmental issues.
Seong-Jun Cho received B.S. and M.S. degrees in mineral and petroleum engineering in 1991 and 1993, respectively, and a Ph.D. in the school of Urban, Civil and Geosystem Engineering in 2000, all from Seoul National University, Korea, in geophysics. Since 1996, he has been a senior geophysicist at the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources. From 2004 to 2005, he was a visiting researcher in the Center for Northeast Asian Studies of Tohoku University, Japan.
